Born on a satellite island, north of the main island in the Petalia Neverzone, Acidney was a poisonous froglet who lived in a swamp that was home to other poisonous amphibians who were immune to each other. When she was just a tadpole, Sid lost her parents and family to a terrible land shake, leaving her in an orphanage. Sid was always shy and withdrawn, a trait that she would come to share with her friends, years later. She had heard stories of travelers who left their small island to explore the vast oceans and lands that were abound beyond their borders, and this always fascinated Sid. The High Counsel of Elders had put in place a counter to this radical way of thinking, if one were to leave the swamplands of the satellite island for more than a few weeks at a time for non-supply-related missions, as mandated by the trade bureau, they were never allowed to come back.
Taking a chance, Sid left the orphanage and took a dragonfly tram to the main island, hoping to find a better future for herself. While her leap of faith was beyond commendable, it was without a doubt the most impulsive feat she had ever done; one that would have ramifications.

Relationships

Tina Tortoise: Tina’s gentle nature is a comfort during the best of times, and in opposite situations makes Sid feel she has done something wrong or has fallen out of favor with her gal pal. Tina knows of these feelings of Sid’s, and her patient nature will always guide Sid back to the light. Being inside a hazmat helmet gives Sid an insight into what Tina’s life in a shell feels like, but the nature of each is starkly different: Tina finds comfort in her shell, whereas Sid feels trapped and claustrophobic, even with the free flow of oxygen that comes from the mystic properties of her ToxAnon gear. Even when she cannot tell anyone anything, Sid always knows that she can rely on Tina’s ear, and has done so when she needed it the most.

Charlotte the Chameleon: The polar opposite of both Tina and Sid, Charlotte is a vivacious ball of energy, and will often try to find the most constructive ways of unleashing it. When it comes to Sid, Charlotte’s number 1 goal each day is to see a smile on at least one of her yellow and black striped friends’ faces — for Winona this is difficult, as she does not have a mouth; which falls upon Sid to accomplish. Thusfar, no one in ToxAnon has seen the meloncholy Sid come close to cracking a smile, but they have never stopped; and Sid loves every one of them for trying; Charlotte being the chief among them. The other facet of Sid’s friendship with her purple gal pal is the pervasive sense of guilt from their very first encounter at the sarsabar, where Charlotte recieved her acid burn from her. Even when Charlotte has made it crystal-crystal clear that it was an accident and nothing more, Sid won’t allow herself to feel any sense of vindication; often questioning why Charlotte cares so much for her in the first place. It was because of this curiousity that Sid began to feel a romantic pull towards Charlotte, but never allowing herself to make any kind of move.

Petalia: Ever since first arriving in Neverland Proper, from the satellite island, Petalia has been Sid’s lifeline, even at risk of her own leaves being burned by Sid’s skin. Petalia is incapable of seeing the bad of her charges, and in rare instances when they have, a long procession of sheer contrition is ever-present. Petalia carries the utmost faith in Sid’s kind heart and her vast intelligence. Petalia has known for a long time that Sid has wanted to become a nurse, like Charlotte wants to, and has always encouraged her to see her goal through. Another ally who has come into the fold is Petalia’s surrogate sister, Gloria (lower right)

Arthur: Sid and Arthur have more of an unspoken relationship, not having that much in common other than their love for their friends and each other. Sid fears what her toxins would do to an arthropod like Arthur the most, because of the dangers of breaching his exoskeleton. Sid has gone out of her way to maintain her distance, at first seeming standoffish. Nevertheless, Arthur could see past her behavior, as they have seen such distancing by their fellow ToxAnoners in the past. Petalia has encouraged Sid to face her fears about being alone with Arthur, as her gear was specifically designed to contain her toxins. Over time, this has helped remedy her phobia of harming him; as she sees him as a brother figure.

Celia the Spider: Out of all the part-time members of ToxAnon, Celia is the closest to Sid. After years of fearing rejection, Celia had, one day, decided that enough was enough, and to let the chips fall where they may, and introduced herself to Petalia’s group. Sid had never met a black widow spider, before; and was hardly scared of one. Of course, Sid cheated, inadvertently, by absorbing the positive bias of Arthur and the group about Celia. Just as Celia never missed her bi-monthly meeting with the Tox-Anoners, so too did Sid never miss out on any of Celia’s works of art being presented in art galleries throughout the island. Considerably older than most of the group, Celia acts very maternally around Sid and the others.

Winona Wasp: As a fellow yellow-and-black striped creature of poison, Sid understood Winona’s shyness and fear better than most. From the moment she first saw the tearful and withdrawn Winona at her first session with ToxAnon, Sid was unable to keep herself from feeling the same pull towards Winona that she had for Charlotte. Thankfully, she did not need to hide it; Winona wanted to give Sid the world after the hug she gave her during her initial meeting at ToxAnon. While it is difficult to overcome the challenge of Sid’s corrosive skin, Winona absolutely adores her girlfriend.

Lady Sal Sol: In Sal’s non-sentient gardens, Sid is invaluable to her, keeping non-sentient insects and flies away from her precious babies (her plants). Despite becoming a vegetarian per ToxAnon’s charter, Sid has been allowed to circumvent this rule and was granted a secondary purpose that related to nature itself. Sal adores Sid for her bright colors and equally bright intellect. Her desire to become a nurse like Charlotte gives Sal a great hope for the future, and has even helped Sid create an antidote to her toxins, albeit a half-cure at this point, but is working to advance it. Sid in turn looks to Sal as a mother figure, and longs for the day when she can actually hug Sal and Galatea without her gear.

Trinity Jones-Elechad: On one of their trips back to the Petaliaverse, Mina had the opportunity to better acquaint herself with Petalia’s ToxAnon charges, even bringing along little Trixie. Even with her gear, Sid was too afraid to go near Princess Mina’s infant daughter. Surprisingly, Trinity flew out of Mina’s arms and crawled on all fours to Sid, cornering her against a bramber patch. One wrong move had ripped off Sid’s smock, and Trixie accidentally made physical contact, and it did not harm Trixie in the slightest. Trinity Skye Nikaribella Jones was the only known being in existence who was immune to Sid’s poisonous skin, and blindly adored her and Winona both. Mina assured Sid that there was a deep affection from her, and that she and Winona had one more friend out there. Lady Sal believes that her distant niece’s DNA may hold the key to allow Sid to be together with Winona without her gear.
