In my mythos stories of the Jones Sisters, each Neverbeing as power(s) that they can tap into in certain situations. The understanding around these abilities is that a Pan/Fay’s power is limited only by their imagination, but there is rhyme and reason behind what powers or spells they can use. The following are some of the many abilities my characters possess.
| Teleportation | AKA Pansportation or Fayportation. To use this ability, the user can be in either their civilian mode or in Knight mode (if one is a human/fae hybrid) If it is a magical being of full blood, it is the same. They have to be able to sense the destination or the person/thing they are trying to hone in on. Trinidads of Pan can Pansport on their own to the Neverscape or certain Neverzones without traveling through the wormhole. Certain Pan Knights can do this without the use of a Panflute, but the latter device increases the output of the energy significantly. WEAKNESSES: In an environment that is laden with Neskomf poison or negative emotions, they cannot travel instantaneously to that place. Also the emotional state of the being plays a crucial factor in being able to execute this spell |
| Psicon | AKA Psiconic Conversation. Another power not limited to Pans. A human can psicon with anyone who psicons them, but the delay in translating their thoughts into the proper format leads to minor static now and then. A psicon transmission is linked to the biosignal of the individual the user is trying to contact. If they are in the same room or worlds apart, it does not matter the distance as long as the users are clear on what they wish to transmit |
| Empathic sight | AKA Panscan or Fayscan. A user can visually see the type of aura that surrounds the one they wish to scan. Oftentimes they will be able to link to one’s emotions so close that they can read the actual thoughts that accompany those emotions. Inanimate objects, buildings, animals, even the weather can be Panscanned and deciphered into synaptic responses, but this is often either a Pan’s strongest power, or the weakest power. If a being is being scanned, it will just bounce right off of them if their minds are maelstromed — clouded by sad or negative thoughts and feelings Fay beings (Sprite, pixian, Zetascapian Humanoid and others) have a tighter grip on this ability that exceeds even the Trinidads of Pan; which often comes in helpful when the trio is in need of their slvskorns’ aid. |
| Time Freeze | Pretty self-explanatory. This power is activated with a voice command or psicon “PAN TIME FREEZE!!” There are times when others can execute the vocal command (Example: When Jesse learned the truth of his and Ariella’s past at Book Brook when she autographed her book for him at a fake book-signing) The limitations of this power vary on the user, those around them, the environment they are occupying, and how many intervals of Nulltime are generated. When one Pan freezes time, all the other Pans in that dimension will be unfrozen as well unless they voluntarily reintegrate themselves into Nulltime. There have been a few instances where time freezes under dire circumstances have generated literal arctic temperatures. Mortals that are in Nulltime do not age for the time they spend, thanks to the pockets of energy that grow out of Nulltime. The only ones that are immune to all time freezes are the Lords of the Never- and Zetascapes, according to the Nevertomes. |
| Psicon Bridge | Using a special incantation, a Pan, fay, or even a mortal with the aid of the former, can travel into the mindscape of the individual the user wishes, even into themselves. Oftentimes, Pans will do this to meditate or self-reflect when they need it. The way the mindscape is translated is through a nexus in the brain known as the Heart Chamber, where the avatar of that person’s heart (soul, not organ) rests on a platform under a soothing darklight that allows them to sleep but let the user see them. Found in this inner sanctum are hallways that lead to memories or recorded dreams. When malignant forces are found taking refuge in these places, it can physically cause damage to that person (Example: The Stuff Dreams Aren’t Made Of saga) |
| Matter transmutation | AKA Fayterialization or Panterialization. When a user focuses their power on an object or substance that is non toxic/non lethal/ harmless, they can use their magical energy to create it from nothing or pansport it from one location to another, but only if it has their own soulprint on it, or the soulprint of one who has granted permission. Many safeguards are put into place by the Nevertribe and the Neverscape Lords so as to never tempt the lowest, nonexistent thoughts of a Pan or fay from ever accidentally reaching them. It is for this reason that magical powers cannot pansport precious metals from one place to another on their own; it has to be done as a circuit, even if it is their own property, in the case of Mina Elecahd and the caches of bullion scattered across the various Neverzones by her biological father, Huek. |
| Panshield | Energy constructs created by Pan Power as a barrier of protection (most often as a giant sphere) These shields can take stored oxygen cells and multiply them if the user is in space, underwater, or in the Nulltime void outside of our universe. Otherwise, it can keep out liquid but let oxygen pass through. Many of the elemental properties’ of these barriers are basically what one would expect. The only weaknesses are pure evil, iron, Neskomf substance, and the user’s energy level. When a Pan Knight or fay is weakened, they often rely on another to generate a shield, but in the most dire of circumstances, their will to survive can jumpstart the energy of the shield. Sometimes, a F-P shield can be used as a reflective surface only. |
| Flight | There are two ways flight can be achieved: through a happy thought alone or with Pixie dust. If a user has their body metamorphized so that their inner structures are replaced with cells that are known as Magical Gears (which mimic the organs of the user in appearance only.) A Pan or fay can use these interchangeably or in unison. Like with other Pan magicks, safeguards are put in place so that the user will not fall at a rate of 32 feet per second/per second if their energy reserves or dust run too low. Also that same failsafe allows water to be repelled by every part of the body except orally, in case they land in the middle of the ocean. Not even Neskomf poison can bypass these defenses because it was crafted by a neutral source of magic and interwoven into the power well. |
| Fusion powered transmutation | The magical gears that allow a Pan or fay to use their powers convert certain forms of matter into energy or disintegrate it from within. A Pan’s biology negates the creation of any kind of waste: urine, fecal, or even gaseous emissions. As a result, once a Pan has ascended, they pretty much forfeit the need to use a toilet. But this depends on how frequently they use their Pan powers or abilities. After a period of a couple of weeks, if not so much as a fleck of pixie dust is used or any spell has not been touched, the body will reconfigure so that reverts to the original bodily functions. This is meant as a safety measure against Neskomf poison from doctors or others who would need to test certain excreted materials. In the case of Ariella Jones, she forfeited the use of her powers for a week just so she could take a pregnancy test prior to “Darkfire Souls”. |
| Adoptslv creation | Little is known about the how of this power in comparison to the why, other than the incantation “PIXIE DUST SHOWER!!”. This is a relatively new power that was pioneered by Ariella Jones at the end of “Blue-Gene Baby (Sister) to give the last gift that Nicole ever got from their deceased mother, a way to heal her and provide her with a confidante. This gave rise to the creation of Rebecca Jones II (Becky) as Nicole’s magical Beanie Baby Bear daughter. The night that Becky was given a special birthday on the star Polaris, Nicole engineered the same spell for another beanie baby that she actually traveled into the past for, for the very same reason Becky was gifted to her. This gave rise to Becky’s yellow-lab sister Sunni, Nicole’s third daughter (after Becky and Kiki) Recently it was used to give the living spirit of Jennifer the Neverscapian spider a vessel that was made at Build a Bear by Jesse Schucart, a cinnamon lop rabbit with overalls. |
| “Gifted Power” | When a Pan marries, the one they love is granted a special ability that often is needed more than wanted. In the case of Jillian Sanduvall by the union to her wife Esther Jones, she was blessed with the power to detect truthfulness, the ultimate defense for a blind person against deception. Also they are given the same immortality as their spouse, but this is only when a Pan marries a mortal. In the case of the rites of Combination between Mina Elechad and Spencer Jones, their natural abilities were increased tenfold by their love and attraction. Spencer’s power isn’t even entirely Pan; it is a special love-based power that resembles Pan Magics along with the strengths and weaknesses. |
| Slv clairvoyance | This power, known in the Nevertomes as the ability to see the product of one’s first laugh, is often mistaken for a child using their imagination when picturing their ideal fairy. This was the case with Ariella Jones when she was little. She did not realize that the blue-haired, angelic fairy she would spend hours drawing with crayon and marker was really her first laugh daughter; she even knew her name was Nillavan. It is unknown how many Pan Knights were born with this ability besides Ariella; but even if she hadn’t, she would have had that same faith in Nillavan that she always did. This would finally manifest in the summer after her coma at Camp Hawthorne, the night of her Bat Mitzvah when they finally met. |
| Anti Pirate Powers | As an adaptation for the perpetual breed of foe they would come up against, Pans and fay are given special powers that cannot be used on benevolent souls. Nothing lethal can be made from these powers; as Pans do not kill without justification. These powers range from hallucination manifestation to being able to churn a villain’s stomach to the point they grow literally ill, and the power to draw blood from dagger contact. This can be seen used by Ariella at the thugs that nearly killed Nicole in “Finding a Predator”. |
