In the mythos I’ve written, there are many creatures from well-established mythology and fantasy, which play an integral part of the storylines.
NEVERSCAPIAN and NEVERZONIAN:
Mermaids:
Like their brethren from other media, Neverzonian merfolk are humanoids who are part-aquatic who need to be under water to survive. In the Neverzones along the Great Myriad, most of them will contain the same group of Merfolk due to the Prismatic Divide, with one horrible hitch: because of the evil forces that were intermeshed in its creation, the phenomenon tainted the individual race in those Neverzones themselves.
TRAITS:
the females of the species differ from their earth counterparts because of their human reproductive system, and their genetic compatibility with fae and humans; though many of the elders considered this a taboo in more traditional Neverzones. While they keep their pubic scales closed and chests covered, most mermaids prefer to feel free without clothing, like their male counterparts (see below)
