Not all families are created equal, nor do they all fit within one kind of mold. For Kristina Shellby Tortoise, it is the differences that bring loved ones together, celebrating their uniqueness and creating positive light when the world is dark and cold. Apart from her biological big siblings, Tina has barely been around any of her fellow turtles or tortoises. Her face is a deadpan and neutral angelic one, but her feelings are never a secret. Those who truly love her have a clear window into her heart, and there are very few on the island that don’t love this little sweetheart.

Relationships:

Arthur Peggio Hopper: The son of Soprana the Neverspider and her late-combinoft Edmund G. Hopper, Arthur inherited his mother’s and sister’s talents for music. Raised to be a gentleman by his close relationships to big sister Cello, sister v’combin Tetrazin, and big cousin Celia, Arthur never had to go far out of his way to impress Tina. By the same token, Tina takes great comfort from being with him because she knows that his feelings are genuine, and have only grown since they were little.
Cello Hopper-DeScorch: Arthur’s big sister is more than just a mentor figure to Tina and ToxAnon, Tina does not want to wait for the Oath of Combination to have Cello as her big sister, too. Cello absolutely adores Tina and believes that she and Arthur are meant to be.

Zimri Hopper: As the youngest of her biological and adoptive families, Tina longed to be a big sister when she and Arthur learned that Churro was expecting her first child with second Combinoft Jargon. After she hatched, Tina fell madly in love with the infant Zimri the minute she was brought home from the Nevertribe Clinic. Zimri has seldom gone a day without Tina’s presence, wanting to help Strat and Tetra take care of her while their parents are away, after all, there is something about a blue grasshopper’s eyes that warms the cold-blooded reptilian girl’s heart like magma. Zimri brings out a strong energy in Tina that no one else is capable of. Tina enjoys every second of time with Arthur’s baby sister, especially when she plays UFO with her. As far as Zimri is concerned, Tina is family, her Sophcart.

Magnolia Fyre-Sol: Every Neverbeing that you see in the above picture is someone who has at one point or another cemented their place in Tina’s heart forever. Magnolia is special however because of her and Tina’s shared knowledge of the Earth Animal food chain. As a predatory animal, owls would dine on many of the aforementioned Neverbeings’ species, but Tina’s meekness activates Magnolia’s protective fires, not her predatory fires. Tina has been an invaluable help to ToxAnon and Petalia, and they share a very special bond.

Petalia: Because of Arthur’s saintly mother, aunt, and cousin each being wrongly discriminated against because they are of a toxic species, Tina believes that every ally in their corner is worth their weight in pixie gold. Wanting to contribute to the cause and make the world safe for Neverbeings like Arthur, Celia, and Zimri, Tina has proven to Petalia and Ross that she is fully committed to their ideals, and has been their friend long before the group was formed. Petalia has been a mentor figure and big sister to Tina, sharing the same meekness and coy lack of confidence in themselves but able to bring it out in others.

Alana Amradilla: For the first few months of Tina’s life Alana, her mother’s best friend, was Tina’s nanny, but it was no major transition for the child when Donna and Leo died. Alana never wanted to change Tina’s surname to hers, never wanted to delude the connection to Donna from Tina. Tina always knew that she was adopted, and it never mattered. Alana and her snail husband were the ideal couple for her, coincidentally other species with shells, and made Tina believe the truth that being slower does not mean that she is lesser than anyone else. To Alana, Tina is the epitome of beauty and grace, a clear reflection of her birth parents, never allowing herself to take any credit for how Tina turned out. Not to worry though, Tina always shows her mother how wonderful she has been to her.
