Personality Traits

Coming from a big family, Arthur is usually quiet and laid back, never wanting to intrude on anyone. Significantly younger than Cello and Strat, and significantly older than infant sister Zimri, Arthur’s desire to branch out, in order to make friends, has forced him to overcome most of his shyness that he shares with family members Cello and Celia. An adolescent with his whole life ahead of him, Arthur enjoys having fun, but is driven by the example that family friend Petalia has set. Arthur retains the same refinement of musical taste as his siblings, possessing very little art skills of his own (ironic for one with the same name as his). Irregardless, he appreciates his family’s crafts and music, but is determined to find his niche.

As a member of ToxAnon, he is very outgoing; usually being the first to offer his feeler in friendship to new recruits, or to offer his shoulder to listen; whereas best friend Charlotte is more project-driven, preparing a welcome party, for instance, or diving into research for cures to ailments that their friends might have. Arthur’s relationship with Tina is one that built slowly over time, but their first encounter was one of wide eyes and blushing. While Tina is not as outgoing as Arthur, she is as loyal and caring as any member of their group. The mere mentioning of Tina’s name is enough to send Arthur into an episode of nerves, geared toward affection. In short, Arthur takes after his siblings as a hopeless romantic.

Physical characteristics and abilities

In stark contrast to his brother and elder sister, Arthur is a sky-blue pigmented grasshopper with brown spider leg characteristics. His signature mark is a long, black zigzag on both sides of his thorax. A deep blue vertical stripe comes down his forehead, the same shade as the color of his eyes. Relatively shorter than his elder siblings, he is only shoulder-height to a Neverscapian flower. Due to the cricket lineage that his father Edmund came from, distantly, the family trait of music playing with their legs is a dominant trait, though not as developed as Cello’s. Like slvskorn fae, his antennae allow him to psicon with great ease in spite of not being a magic-sensative being.

Relationship with Tina

Both Arthur and Tina are soft-spoken pre-teens, but are quite adventurous. As the protégés and friends of Petalia, they take her inspiration to heart. Whether it is with their ToxAnon friends, or when they are alone, they both love to explore the island and try new things. Tina used to be afraid to (literally) come out of her shell, contrary to the fact that she wanted to learn how to tube and surf of the island’s coast. Arthur asked Celia to help take Tina’s measurements in the privacy of her apartment, and her Blue Moon Silk was used to make Tina’s favorite bathing suit (See above). The first time that Tina tried to wade in the water outside of the lagoon, Arthur was there to encourage her and keep her cool under the umbrella.

The two of them, Arthur and Tina, dream of the day when they can have their own Combination Ritual; but Tina is the more prudent of the two; afraid that they are jumping the gun by thinking about it so soon. Taking after his brother and sister, Arthur never just had eyes for those of his own species as his perfect mate. Tina was apprehensive about Arthur’s intentions at first, but the look in his eye; the gentle nature of every action and step he takes; and the devotion he has demonstrated to those in their circle and his family — it was the most magical feeling that Tina ever had when she discovered the truth behind Arthur’s infatuation with her — that it was real love, or at least a budding one.
