Painfully aware that she carries toxic venom and the stereotyped rumor of killing her sexual partners, Celia is a spider who is dysphoric about being a Black Widow species. Celia was born with a weak heart, possibly due to being partially an arachnid and grasshopper. Her mother Dextra was a strong presence in her life during her early years, but circumstances led her to the Neverscape and then Earth, but Celia was especially close with her cousins, Strat and Cello in particular. When Petalia sprouted from the ground, Celia was an aunt figure to her. Presently, she has relocated to Petra’s Neverzone to be with Cello, Laddie, Petalia, and Gloria. Surprisingly, the human Sonya Elechad-Oz was quick to befriend the visiting spider and accept her and her cousins into their home.

Appearence and Physical Attributes
Celia is a voluptuous black spider whose grasshopper traits and Neverscapian genes greatly differentiate her from others of her shared genuses. She was hatched with a full head of fiery red hair and deep blue eyes (four sets of them) and her face is comparable to a caucasian human’s, with blush marks on each side. Her four sets of legs are shaped more like her cousins’, with the same brown color and lack of fuzz. Celia wears her hear up in a bun and usually wears sweaters or coats. When she is sleeping, she wears eye masks and wears pink negligee nighties. Her mouth is invisible and she has no mandible fangs, but because she subsists on a vegan diet, she does not have need to use them predatorially. Once she drank Petalia’s tea, her congenital heart defect was reversed, and her energy output was exponentially increased, to say nothing of her strength and stamina.

Personality Traits:
Celia is the polar opposite of a standard black-widow spider; she is a pacifist and vegan, never wanting to harm a single entity. Being the eldest of her siblings and cousins, Celia possesses the same mother hen traits that the Neverscapian royals and Nevertribe females have. Celia’s weak heart from birth has made her life rather passive, but she has learned to compensate with her artistic skills. She is expressive in non-verbal ways, and is often silent of tongue; and when she does talk, she rarely talks above a whisper. One would define Celia as a stickuitive and unsinkable soul, whose empathy and kindness is unmatched. Seldom does she ever indulge in things for herself, apart from her sewing and art supplies. Even though she is the second-oldest of her family (Aunt Churro and her husband Jargon each preceding her by a couple decades), she still has the faith of a child, and has a penchent for rabbits.

Even if it was by accident, Celia had a knack for forming genuine friendships with even the most unlikely of individuals. And while they were little in number, those who were proud to have Celia’s friendship would have gone to any lengths to honor that friendship. Even within the Great Myriad, Celia’s crafts were the envy of the art world, even if there were far more experienced artists and more complex works, Celia’s handiwork had a strong following and influence. Many of her fans would never guess that she was a spider, but the Celia’s surprisingly uncommon name garnered such accolades, the kind she never intended or imagined she would get. Her strongest supporters are a 4+way tie between her cousins, Laddie, and Lady Sal; all trailing by the narrowest of margins due to what Petalia did to reverse her near-fatal affliction, as seen below:

Artistic Media
Well-versed in many different specialties, Celia is a student of every art, and has dabbled in every type of medium and art form available to her. Due to her heart condition, Celia did have plenty of time on her hands to hone these different skills, and soon made a lucrative business that had reached every walk of life in Neverland and the Neverscape. The Bee Kingdom, the Nevertribe, Hopper Hills, ToxAnon, and the Neverscapian Royals knew and adored Celia and her contributions. Despite what most would believe, Celia does not charge for her works because it is not an official business, but she does earn a minuscule portion of Strat’s income from his enamel pins because of her role as an art consultant. Though she mainly will accept tips and small commissions here and there, she will often receive bonuses for her work, which she will then donate a significant portion of to charities like Solin-Sly and others. Among her main lines of projects, these are her specialties:
Sewing: Since she does not use her spider silk for predatory purposes, she always has more than enough accrued for creating fabrics, textiles, thread, yarn, string, twine, and wire. Her sewing is her greatest strength, using a machine that can be powered by contained thunderstorms in special Nevertribian orbs (see picture above). Her hind legs can knit her silk into yarn or string as it is being secreted, which expedites her projects like Gloria and Petalia’s Blue Moon silk blankets.
Ceramics: While it is not her specialty, she can create clay mugs and plates with little effort, and can paint with great dexterity and accuracy. Her favorite example is her Jennifer mug (also in picture above) from a premonition of her upcoming encounter with her in Petra’s Neverzone.
Painting/drawing/chalking: On her far wall is a gallery of her best printings, a few of them were of great interest to Mina Elechad-Jones, as they were linked to her missing sister Siobhan. Her metaphysical senses are what allow her to see and capture these events/people on canvas or papyrus. The painting that shows Petalia’s reaction to Celia being sick was what drove her so hard to craft Gloria’s blankie. With renewed energy, the graphic evidence of Petalia’s true heart was enough to sew a dozen of her blankets.

Relationships:

Churro Hopper: Celia is extremely close with her aunt, both of them having had to deal with the loss of Celia’s mother Dextra. Churro and Celia are polar opposites of each other as far as personality goes. Churro is very outgoing and engaging, while Celia is a homebody and shy, suffering from mild agoraphobia at times. There are times when Churro can only speak with Celia about things that she cannot even share with her combinofts or children; and Celia is a very devoted listener. While it is a common theme in the Jones Sisters Mythos, Churro loves Celia like a daughter as much as she does Cello and Zimri. Both have felt the dogma of specism solely from their biology as black-widow spiders, nevermind the fact that their toxins are benign through Neverscapian Magic generations prior.

Arthur Peggio Hopper: Like how Churro looks to Celia as a daughter more than a niece, Celia adores her little cousins, and grew particularly close with little Arthur when he was a baby. Celia always doted upon her aunt’s children, one could make the argument that the universe was training Celia for when she would finally meet her baby sister C’Daka. Arthur had often mistaken Celia for his mother, as they both have red hair and similar body types; but it did not take long for him to learn the difference, doing nothing to negate that same love he would give to her as a maternal figure. Arthur is very devoted to Cousin Celia, and when she nearly died of septic shock from overextending her use of her Blue Moon Silk, he and his girlfriend camped out in Celia’s apartment with their ToxAnon friends, trying to help nurse her back to health. It is a testament of their cousling bond that will never ever break.

Kristina “Tina” Shelby Tortoise: Arthur’s shy girlfriend never had to be anyone other than herself to earn the heart of the maternal Celia. It was this bond that compelled Tina to personally try to barter at the Nevertribe PX for the orange juice she had on her back, in the hopes of Celia getting well. Truth be told, she did not have enough Nevercoins, but was willing to swap out her Gladdie Meal premium that she had her heart set on in order to purchase said juice. Blackbird, the human Nevertribian who ran the PX gave her the juice and two Nevercoins because of her genuine display of selflessness and desire to heal a sick friend. The only way that Celia and Tina are different is a deficit of four legs; nothing more. 🙂

Wilhelm and Dextra: Celia’s parents each loved her deeply and dearly, and it pained Celia when they each died. Wilhelm was a visual-arts engineer, making what are akin to Hollywood movies on shoestring budgets and magic in place of technology, and some of her most precious memories are when he would bring her to the soundstage in Neverzone 39482990, where his films were made. After he passed away, Celia and Dextra lived for each other, never letting a day go by without showing how important each of them was to the other. When Dextra was called away from their Neverzone, it broke both of them, inside. Dextra entrusted her precious daughter to the care of her little sister and her combinoft: Churro and Edmund, and Celia would be eternally grateful for Dextra’s final gift: a baby sister named C’Daka (Known now as Jennifer Jonescart)

Juniper Squirrel-Caribou: The night that Cousin Cello had brought Juniper home to meet the family; an initiation of sorts; Cello was unable to foresee her new best friend’s abject fear of spiders or how she would leave the house in fear. Celia thought she was only helping Cello and Churro by using the “blindness” approach to break the ice with the pretty squirrel girl, but Juniper was not only cured of her fear of spiders from how cordial and kind Celia was behind the black silk blindfold, but Juniper was smitten with the comely spider; forming one of her most ardent loyalty crushes of all. Celia often believed herself to be ugly and misunderstood, but her kindness was what endeared her to Juniper; just like it had been for Dainty, Demuria, and their other friends. Juniper and Wilscott have never fallen out of loyalty-love with Celia; then again, no one in their group has. Juniper, Dainty, and Cello were always as close as sisters, and they each looked to Celia as one of their own, and they were never, ever shy about making sure she knew it.

Cello Hopper-DeScorch: As stated previously, where Cello and Celia are to each other on the family tree is irrelevant, as they both are closer than sisters. It was never Celia’s duty to care for her cousins as much as she does, but she has taken it upon herself to care for her just as their mothers cared for each other, and Cello gives loyalty as good as she gets; and she never goes at it with less than her all. Cello was there for Celia when she lost her father and mother, and Celia has stuck by Cello during the worst times of her life, even if she was not able to get through to Cello after the loss of her father and her mentors. Celia has come to realize that she was never meant to heal her in that one regard; it was Cello’s destiny to find and rescue Fyrefox’s seedling daughter Petalia; and Celia has played the role of silent godmother for the little sprout. Cello used to feel guilty for how little her big brother Strat thought of himself, but Celia has proven equal to the occasion by getting through to Strat; convincing him that his passion may be music, but it is not his truest of passions.

Magnolia Sol the Snow Owl: Celia does not have that much time with Maggie by herself, but neither of them goes a day without feeling the warmth that they have for each other; and it is their shared bonds with mutual friends that drives it across whenever they can’t. When Magnolia had her bout with Avian flu, Celia and Cello helped Juniper and the Mousettes do everything they could to make her comfortable and find a cure. Even if it is something as simple as making a needlepoint of love, Magnolia has but to look at the tears that come out of the bespectacled spider’s eyes to see that Celia’s heart breaks for the fledgling owlette. Among the things they share is their love for Petalia and their friends, and neither is shy about protecting her.

Petalia and Gloria: A fragile flower with frightening fortitude, Petalia has had a stranglehold over Celia’s heart ever since she was a sprout. Cello’s saving Petalia’s life had a domino effect, and one of the results was an intrinsic desire to help nurture Cello’s surrogate secret daughter, even from afar. Celia’s congenital heart defect kept her from traveling outside of her apartment, but her creations were extensions of her love; the most special of which was Petalia and Gloria’s Blue Moon Silk Blankies. Gloria grew up knowing the arts that Celia greatly contributed to, inadvertently making a name for herself in the world of culture. The two flower girls’ desires to do good and help others all stemmed from Celia’s generosity and kindness; which resulted in Petalia’s most careless action yet: to pluck one of her own live petals so that Cello and Laddie could make a tea that would nourish Celia back to health; curing her heart defect in the process.

Jennifer Jonescart: While they do not look it, Jenni the lop rabbit doll adores her big sister; known to her as C’Daka, daughter of Dextra. Celia had long-foreseen Jennifer’s birth and rebirth from spider to plush bunny, and was a muse for Celia’s greatest works of art. Celia sees Jennifer as more than just a sister; she is a mish-mash of everything she could love: Celia loves her like a sister, daughter, neice, cousin, and friend all in one, but nothing less than a sister at the beginning of the equation. Jennifer metaphorically cries happy tears whenever she is with Celia, having only met her within the last Neveryear; and it was Celia who helped Jennifer overcome her fear of owls, so that Magnolia would have the love of all of her sisters; and like with Juniper’s fear of spiders, Celia’s methods worked. These starcrossed siblings, now that they have finally met, cannot bear to be without the other.

Della-Kate Mousette: Her soft-spoken mentor, the mother of two of their family’s dearest friends, Della-Kate molded the unbridled potential of the young spider-mite, and honed it into many different facets, where Celia has shimmered brightly. Losing her was another difficulty that was hard to face, but in her mentor’s stead, Celia has become a mentor figure worthy of Della, herself. Many needlepoints and paintings that Celia has created over the years have been in honor of Della, and has a very close friendship with Demuria, Dainty, Dane, and Ferrina as of 20XX+1.

Piik the Porcupine: A refugee from the remote island of Quillios, Piik (pronounced Pike) was a descendent of the original monarch of the Quilliad Nation, Lord Quinten. During her childhood, the Quilliads were allowed limited access to Neverland’s main island, and Celia took her on as an art student. Eventually, they grew closer, and even when they were apart, Piik had an empathic link to her mentor that told her that she was on the cusp of death, prompting her to sneak through the top-secret transport tunnels beneath the ocean to the main island. Even though Celia’s condition was reversed before Piik could get to her, reuniting with her dear friend and warning the Nevertribe of the Quilliads’ threat meant the world to Celia.
Relocating to Petra’s Neverzone:
After Petalia and Gloria did their part to combine Mina and Spencer, as their magti, the comely duo were given a new home with Mina’s parents, Stavros and Sonya. Celia, Cello, and Laddie were feeling empty without their flower babies, and could sense that Petalia and Gloria felt the same, so they traveled to Petra’s Neverzone, hiding out in the house until they could give a proper introduction to Petalia’s host parents. Celia brought only her hand-crafted doll of Jennifer and some nighties, and fell asleep on a hastily-made web, with Cello and Laddie curled up on another web, out of harm’s way. Unexpectedly, Sonya had gotten up to get a glass of water from downstairs, and accidentally jostled the shy and timid Celia from her slumber.
At first, Celia was terrified of Sonya, worried that a human would want to squash her flat. But Celia had lucked out by Sonya being very familiar with Neverbeings of different species, and that her father, Edlund, was an insect/arachnid fancier. Even without that distinction, Celia was far too adorable with her human-like qualities to be considered any kind of a threat to Sonya. Not only did she welcome Celia and her cousins, The DeScorches; Sonya had taken an immediate shine to Petalia’s foster sister Magnolia the Snow Owl.

Meeting Jennifer
Queen Aurora had Nillavan Jones craft a special jewel for Celia’s hair scrunchie, which allowed her to instantaneously travel from this Neverzone, to her home in the Petaliaverse, as they knew she still had ties with cousins Strat, Arthur, Zimri, and Tetrazin. Despite not needing it anymore, Celia continued leasing her apartment and invited her new friend Winona Wasp to stay as long as she liked, as thanks for the loyal patronage that Queen Beeatrix gave to Celia’s art exhibitions and the countless commissions that Beeatrix personally bartered for. Winona fell in love with the place because it still had the warmth of heart that Celia’s works and spirit had enshrined within, a constant reminder for Winona to never give up on her dreams of being a honey crafter and beyond. Celia was able to actively resume her trade from within the Elechad house, and she had the honor of teaching Sonya some of her greatest crafting secrets. In return for being given residence in their home, Celia offered to share her earnings with the Elechads from each of her projects, but the couple instantly turned it down, as Stavros was part-owner of the Neverpier, and owned Oz’s Sarsatavern.
One night, Celia quietly threaded down from the kitchen chandelier with a sad sigh. When asked by Sonya what was wrong, Celia confided in her about the sister she pined for; the one that Sonya had met many times: Jennifer. The timid Celia was wanting more than anything to finally make her existence known to C’Daka, but was buffeted by her nerves and self-doubt. While her visions of meeting Jennifer were crystal clear, she still did not trust them; it did not give her any indication how to woo her baby sister, which she had spent the past three nights awake over. Sonya was a big sister, herself; having a little sister named Katrina prior to the Belfast Slaughter. Sonya agreed to help with reining in Jennifer by sending an invite to her, Lexi, and Serena. In the garden shed, after the three Joneses arrived, Celia was given the most wonderful of gifts: Jennifer’s blush and tears of love.

Musical Group

In 20XX+1, Echochime and Lyra had been helping their infant sister Trixie to calm down while going through a trifecta of croup, colic, and influenza, by harmonizing their beautiful singing voices and Lyra’s lyre playing. During this time, the two slv sisters spent 2 weeks by their parents’ side, singing Celtic and early 1980s songs, which actually had a physical factor in her healing. When Cello and Celia saw Trixie when Spencer and Mina brought her to Sonya’s house, and Trixie practically glowed. Celia’s curiosity as to how Trinity was affected by music gave the Hopper cousins a show of the most beautiful melodies merged into one harmony. Cello and Celia were speechless; Echochime and Lyra’s techniques impressed Cello, a seasoned pro in violinist music and in operettas like what her mother dedicated her entire career to perfect. Feeling that they could greatly benefit from Cello’s trained ear, they began to practice with her.
Celia was present for every single one of their practice sessions, and the sisters joined Celia in being in the audience for Cello’s professional performances within the Neverscape and the Great Myriad. Queen Aurora and the other Neverscapian Royals were made aware of their granddaughters’ talents by Cello herself, in conjunction with Mina and Spencer’s praises. The idea came to Celia that her three friends should form a band; that they were far too good together to not give it a try. Before they could respond, Celia and Magnolia paid a visit to her old apartment complex in the Petaliaverse, bringing back with her her old faeramin and a special thunderball power source and other equipment. Echochime showed great interest in that instrument in the past, in passing, and Celia never forgot it. Cello and the sisters decided that they would form a band. As for their base, Lyra had found a special place during her exploration of the Neverscape’s western coast, a rare fae circle formation that was hidden in a secret meadow. The only thing was missing was a place for their biggest supporter; Celia.
Celia was far too shy to ever think of performing in front of others, but the other three girls were insistent that they wanted her to be part of their group, for no other reason than they love her and consider her to be their core. Celia was happy to work behind the scenes if ever a time came when they would play together for a real audience, but this was not their goal. Their music was always meant to be a way for them to bond as a family. Echochime sought out advice from cousin Nillavan, who personally used her metalsmithing to craft a fitting instrument for Celia, a triangle. When Celia strikes the metal construct with a special beater, the resulting notes release a special calming sensation that is specifically in tune with grasshoppers and spiders. After all the trouble the other three went through to make her feel included, there was no way that Celia would refuse. The band gave itself the name “Fae Arcs” after the quad-color circular formation of mushrooms around the tree. Their specialty is lullabies for the babies of the Jones-Elechad-Schucart family.
