Who is Dextra?
Dextra the Neverspider immigrated to Hopper Hills alongside her sister Soprana after the death of their parents. Dextra and Soprana were treated as outsiders and pariahs because their soulprints could not be detected by the residents of the small town. Before they were turned away, a kind woman named Victoria Mousette took the ultimate leap of faith and befriended the two poisonous sisters.
Dextra’s artistic talent eventually caught the attention of amateur filmmaker Wilhelm Scream Hopper, and the two fell in love. Dextra gave birth to a half-hopper daughter named Cecelia, and would later have an entire clutch of over 100 eggs with a feral spider on Earth, with one of them being an intelligent Neverscapian specimen.

What took away everyone’s fears?
Dextra and Soprana’s friendship with Victoria went a long way to paving trust with the other villagers, but the real act that changed everything was Soprana and Dextra willingly volunteering to benign their toxins by appealing to the Nevertribe Lords. It is arguable, but there are those who think that the Blue Moon Ritual was what made their soulprints visible. Others, like Wilhelm and Victoria, could see a benevolent set of souls at first glance. Unfortunately, their fears did not stay away as generations shifted.
What is Dextra’s legacy?
Dextra was responsible for many wonderful masterpieces of art spanning different media, and teaching Della-Kate Mousette everything she knew so she could pass that knowledge on to others. Dextra did many amazing things, but her true legacy is her daughter and her nieces and nephews via Soprana. Her heart lives on in theirs, and her art warms the souls that see them.
