The second-born child of wealthy gemstone billionaire Sansom Ferrette, Festival was a happy and heartfelt young girl who was raised to believe that interpersonal connections mattered more than riches. Festival loved her big brother a darker-furred ferret named Foster, the heir-apparent to their family fortune. Her friendship with renowned artist Della-Kate Mousette was deep and strong, and it was Festival who set Della up with Foster in the first place. While she was dating her future-husband Jason Marmot, Festival was given the honor of being Demuria’s — Foster and Della’s first child — godmother. Whenever Della needed to teach a class or when Foster was called to their family’s corporation to consult, Festival would clear everything from her schedule, no matter how pressing it was, so that she would get time with her niece and make life easier for the parents whenever possible. Every week when Festival had her pokernasta games with her gal pals, Demuria would have play dates with the girls’ children, creating friendships and loves that would outlast time itself.

For nine Neveryears, Demuria and Festival was close with Festival and Jason, but when it was learned that Della was pregnant with twin ferrets and that Sansom Ferrette was dying, Festival was duped into meeting up with an individual claiming to be a business partner of Sansom’s, and after being knocked out with drugs, she was brought to Quillios Island via the sub ocean tram tunnel, and Elder Enid and Lord Quoshent implanted a prototype of what would become the Blue Moon filaments that the Quilliads would be weaponized against Neverland. Apart from her gentle side, her selfish and scheming persona was secretly born, influencing Festival’s actions and decisions. Over the next few Neverdecades, Festival would also suffer from fugue states and false memories.
This side of her would grow over time, but the first act “Festival” committed was to subtly coerce the elderly Sansom to change his will to give half of Foster’s inheritance to her. While this occurred, Della gave birth to twins, Felicia and Fiona, and agents under the command of Quilliad Lord Quoshent to replace the twins with doppelclones with no heartbeats. As the doctor was declaring the twins’ time of death, the real twins were brought to Festival in the Neverscape, along with fabricated evidence of Festival’s pregnancy to her own set of twins. Rechristened as Ferrina and Stardancer, the twins were raised by Festival and Jason, now going by Stone as a result of the psifrequencies from the mind-control device took away his positive emotions and personality; growing bitter, aloof, and angry when the twins weren’t around.
Demuria, Foster, and Della were devastated by the deaths of Fiona and Felicia, and Foster would die soon after. Della would move on with a lover named Dorian Weaselle, bearing a son named Dane Mousette who the Quilliads kidnapped two years after his birth. Festival was the babysitter for Dane and Demuria when Della was out on a date with her future combinoft — one of Foster’s friends —Reggie Ratte, a fellow artist. Festival feigned the devastation she felt from losing Dane and put a price on the kidnappers’ heads, but she gave a false description of the kidnappers.
In the wake of her little brother’s kidnapping, Demuria wanted more than ever to be close to her cousins, and to an extent was allowed to be with them. Festival’s love for Della and her children was destroyed by the Quilliads’ mind control. Demuria grew embittered by her aunt’s snobbish and boorish behavior, and the constriction of her relationship to her cousins even further. Demuria overheard private conversations between her aunt and some of her mother’s friends, and there was only denigration and contempt for Della and her “rodent” children. By the time Demuria and her boyfriend Baxter Bee found Dane in a pirate-controlled Neverzone in the Myriad, Dane was 7 and any last strand of affection Demuria had for her aunt was long decayed. Even with how much she changed, the real Festival still lingered with her love for her daughters.
EVENTS OF PETALIA’S WISH

EVENTS OF PETALIA’S WISH:
After nearly 30 Neveryears, the side of Festival that was suppressed by the Quilliads’ machinations began to resurface: Her body morphed back into her leaner form without any explanation; her kind heart was thawed out, leading her to say in her sleep something to her combinoft husband Jason Marmot: “I love you.” Most of her memories after the “birth” of her daughters became fuzzy, and she learned that her friendships were obliterated by her drastic personality change, including her friends Alana Amridilla and Cadence Mousette. The only thing that made sense to her was that her niece Demuria was an NSF agent and that their relationship was destroyed, just like how her marriage to Jason became strained by her own boorish behavior.
At first, Demuria did not buy this theory of reformation, but all the signs and her own instincts pointed to the contrary. The biggest that Demuria could see was a behavior that Festival could not have faked: treating Demuria’s Blue Moon Silk bandana as a totem of love and not as a tissue like Demuria anticipated. After being told the truth about her daughters being her nieces whom she “bought” off the Quilliad’s Black Market, she went into a near-fatal bout of seizures, brought on by the mind control technology that the Quilliads used to hijack her. Festival vanished from her hospital bed, taken hostage by the Quilliad Elder Enid as a bargaining chip. Jason, having fallen back in love with his combinoft after 30 Neveryears of stagnation, stepped into the fray to save her and the Neverhive Royals.
