In Misty’s Fourth Stage, she was living alone in her faypartment in the Great Redwood. She was the first fae of her generation, and was filled with a sense of shyness. All of that came to a head when news of a new baby’s birth on Earth was revealed to her; her infant aunt Ariella Jones was born, and so was her first laugh. Her sharpened senses allowed Misty to trace the newest batch of slvskorte arrivals to the Neverscape, and was shocked and disheartened when the fae she sensed was no longer there. It was pointless to ask the newborns, who had just matured to adult stature, physcially, whether they had seen this new brother/sister of hers.
Fortunately for Misty, she was not the only one on the hunt for this missing newborn, as Queen Aurora and her daughter Maddie were distraught at her disappearence; fearing the worst. Desperate, Misty played hookey from her Magic school finals, and went to the Neverscape’s Tundra region, where she attempted the very spell she was going to be tested on; a time-mapping spell. Using the DNA of her newborn aunt, Misty traveled beyond the ethereal plane and followed the star. The results were inconclusive, as both beings were barely a day old. There was nothing left to do but wait patiently back at her faepartment. A new neighbor of hers had stopped by while she was gone, and waited for her. This was a stage 2 fae who had been alive for a month; Misty’s cousin, Echochime Jones of Spencer. She came to update Misty, and to introduce herself. This was a welcome distraction, as the only thing they could do was wait.
After a few days, Queen Aurora had come across the missing slvskorte and began her registration. Apparently, Nillavan’s curiosity of her first glimpse of life had gotten the better of her, and she fled the meadow and went exploring. When Queen Aurora had found her, she was asleep in a cavern in the Northwest cape, surrounded by extremely complex math equations and molecular charts written in chalk. Filled with the promise of finally being with her family, Nillavan was finally added to the census, leaving only the matter of where she would live. Misty knew that there was an abundance of studio faypartments that the newlings were meant to start out in, but she frantically went about the task of prepping the faypartment for two, and preparing the sales pitch to get her new sibling to stay with her, instead. The superintendent of the tree had a three-hour backlog of newlings to attend to, but as soon as the blue-haired first-stage fay, Nillavan, came up to the desk and was thrilled to discover that she had a sister, expressing her desire to meet her. Overjoyed, but composed, Misty came up from behind her and gave her a hug, welcoming her into the world. Elated, Nillavan refused the studio faypartment.
Before going upstairs, the sisters were overtaken with each other; a reflection of the connection to their mothers that had transpired in the interim; Ariella was held by Bella for the first time, and was so entranced by Bella’s embrace, she cried when she was about to be taken away by their mother, Rebecca. Nillavan was so full of questions for Misty, she was hyper and frantic, to which Misty found charming; promising her that all her questions would be answered once she (Nillavan) was settled in.
When Misty brought Nillavan upstairs into her new home, the former was shocked and when she saw that her favorite bracelet was broken again. All the fae at the Exchange (Neverscape marketplace) who examined it, said that there was nothing that could be done. While Misty voiced her frustration, Nillavan stared at the bracelet for a few seconds, then blinked in a mini blow-torch and immediately fixed the gem’s setting. Nillavan handed the bracelet to her sister, not realizing how difficult this task was for all the other fae Misty had consulted on about the bracelet. Her sister was not only beautiful, but extremely gifted, and a magical friendship was forged.
Ever-growing Family…
Between the time that Nillavan was born and the arrival of Tabitha Rosa Jones-DuBrau, Misty had taken under her wing not only Nillavan and Echochime, but a mysterious fae who possessed a maternal-family connection to them, going by the name Jade Heliosa Jones. A few months later, two more fae girls would be born into their brood: Cacao Blossom Jones (via their infant aunt Nicole) and Calaypsana Jones (via newborn aunt Serena). Once all of them were past their first stages, a special meeting was held at Palace Faye-Sol, presided over by Queen Aurora and Chief Dajanoten Sol. The meeting was expressly for the purpose of revealing a secret to the group: that they (even Tabitha Rosa and Jade, by extension) were their grandbabies; making them princesses of both the Neverscape and the Nevertribe. In actuality, this was a test; as their reactions would dictate whether or not they were fit for their future roles; which all of them passed. The title, while sacred, was not a thing that they coveted, and they promised they would keep their connection to the Neverlords a secret.
Bit by bit, each slvskorte was allowed to observe their parents, something that Misty and Nillavan already had the chance to do when their parents were 3 and 7. Soon, they were able to travel into their heart chambers, observe their dreams, and even stay a night or two in their rooms, provided that they wore ensconsed in a safe place AND wore Neskomf Armor. Misty and Nillavan took advantage of these opportunities more than most, as they had the most free time of all the other slvs: Callie was an aquatic fae who had to undergo special therapy to make her wings stronger and not be afraid of the humanoid world; Echochime was a devoted, full-time magic student, and the best in her class; Kiki was interning with the Neverscape’s best botanists and spent time exploring and interacting with the animalistic Neverbeings of their world; Jade and Tabitha were limited in their access to their slvsinofts, as there was no magical DNA in their parents, apart from an underdeveloped magic that laid dormant in Magda. When Misty visited Bella’s room at night, she was in her strongest Neskomf armor, but it was still not enough to shroud her from Bella; not completely.
A Jonescart kind of Future…
Things began to take a turn when Misty’s aunt Ariella met and befriended the brother of Bella’s best friend Sophie, Jesse Schucart. It was a normal interaction at first, but the two 8-year-olds had become far too close with each other; literally. Their mindscapes were overwhelmed by the budding love that they were feeling for one another, and Aurora, to a certain extent, predicted this. So, with her authorization, Misty and Nillavan traveled to Earth, and encountered Bella and Sophie in the Remington History museum’s Midieval section. With time frozen, the two fae introduced themselves to Bella, who somehow already knew who they were. Confident in the human duo’s belief in magic, Misty and Nillavan Fayported their couslings to the same place, and they warned Sophie and Bella about their siblings getting too close; that caution needed to be advised. Misty partially erased Bella and Sophie’s memories of their visit, blocking the faces of the other fae, but not their coming there. Despite their warning, Ariella and Jesse’s minds began to open dimensional apertures within their minds, a form of astral projection and splicing their senses together. With Esther Jones’s help, Jesse’s memories of meeting Ariella were isolated and stored in his deepest subconsciousness. It would be a few years before Ariella and Jesse were able to meet up again. Misty felt the same guilt that Bella did, but for the sake of their families, it had to be done. Misty had the solace of knowing, via her timemapping powers that her aunt and future uncle would come back to one another.
The Darkest Year for the Jones Clan…
What was supposed to be a happy occasion, turned into the deepest of tragedies when Nicole was about to turn 8. In the preceding weeks, Kiki had been expressing to Misty and Nillavan her desire to finally reveal herself to her giggle mother, pleading with Queen Aurora to allow her this chance. Aurora promised that she would give it some thought, and get back to Kiki the night before their birthday; but that was a wish that was not meant to be. On her way back home from a trip to the Party Store, Rebecca’s car was hit by a fuel tanker on the highway, and it was no accident. Bella received terrible burns and was thrown through the windshield, but was still alive; Rebecca, however, was declared dead at the scene: BBR. Misty had already been on edge because she was unable to see past a darkness that laid in the next lunar rotation; and when she realized what was going to happen, it was far too late.
Bella was admitted into Abrams General Hospital, and was put into a medically-induced coma. Unable to deal with what had transpired, Misty cloistered herself in the Tundra caverns, too depressed and guilt-ridden for not being able to protect her mother or grandmother. A few days passed, and Echochime had finally tracked Misty down, frantic. It was Nillavan; Ariella had fallen comatose at Rebecca’s Shiva, totally unresponsive, due to a severe collapse in soul temperature; and now Nillavan was being affected in the same way; she was unconscious, with no indication of how long she would remain that way. Misty and Echochime Fayported to the Palace’s clinic, where Nillavan’s soul temperature was near the fatal freezing point. With Echochime’s help, a spell was cast that would feed into Nillavan’s dreamscape, allowing Misty to try to guide Nillavan back to them. After a few hours of searching through the frozen dreamscape, Misty tracked Nillavan’s feint energy signature, and pleaded with Echochime to allow her to try on her own.
After Echochime left, Misty tried to reassure Nillavan that everything would be okay; but the coldness of her soultemp filtered out most of what Misty said to her. Realizing the spell was not enough, Misty risked her life to travel into Nillavan’s frozen heart chamber. It was then that Nillavan shared with Misty one last secret; that she was in love with her. Nillavan felt like this was a forbidden feeling, and that if it could push Misty away from her, then that would be one less sister to grieve. Nillavan was about to be encased in ice, and Misty’s doorway out would be closed, but Misty knew of Nillavan’s feelings, and she promised that they would take the Rites of Combination if Nillavan would break free of the sorrow that Ariella’s shared grief was trapping her in. She gave Nillavan a Combinoft kiss, and the ice around them vanished. Nillavan awoke in the real world again, but was kept under observation by their uncle, Prince Silver Dart Sol.
While Callie, Tabitha Rosa, Kiki, and Jade kept Nillavan company, Echochime and Misty were sent to Earth to do recon of the fallout of Rebecca’s death, working in conjunction with their aunt and uncle, ZSF Special Forces liaisons Fireshy Jones and her brother Starblaze Jones. Misty and Echochime were kept away from the crime scene itself, but were given authorization to go through the evidence that Star and Shy found. Misty had recognized the runes in the dagger blade that was found next to the perpatrator’s body. This was not an accident; it was a kamakaze strike, and Bella was the true target. Once this came to light, Starblaze ordered Misty to stay put in the Neverscape, and to not make contact with Bella’s subconscious, or Ariella’s; as it would draw attention to them by the same organization that was after Bella. Fireshy brought both her neices back to the Neverscape, where Nillavan and Misty, in secret, confided in Fireshy about their desire to take the Oath of Combination. In her capacity as a Zetascape agent, she was able to perform the Combination Ritual, and did so right in the hospital. Fireshy realized also that Nillavan was still feeling ashamed for her feelings for her own cousling, despite it being a perfectly acceptable norm in the Neverscape. Shy promised to keep this to herself, but wished them nothing but love and good luck.
When Nillavan was released from the clinic, she and Misty were sent a summons from a secret source, an entity on the Star Polaris; a parallel dimension that was reachable the same way as Neverland via the Second Star. When they got there, they saw a giant crystal tower hovering in the sky, over 400 floors, and no end in sight, horizontally. The message said for the girls to travel to the roof of the tower, and then all would be explained. When they got there, they were met by two humans: Derrick Green (Bella’s deceased boyfriend) and Rebecca, their grandmother. To Misty’s great relief, Rebecca was alive, and so was the man her mother loved; but at a great cost; they were unable to travel away from Polaris, due to the magical properties of their new bodies that were created by the Nevertribe’s magic. Misty voiced her fears that Bella and Ariella were never going to wake up, but Derrick, who had been told of Misty by Bella herself, brought Misty to a special chamber in the tower, a high-tech magical facility where an infant was being kept within a crystalline stasis pod; this was Misty’s brother, the baby who would be known as Declan. Bella was pregnant when the explosion occurred, and Derrick had pleaded with Queen Aurora to allow the Councils of Pan and the Neverscapian Lords to extract the child and allow him to stay in this artificial womb, untouched by the passage of time while Derrick kept him safe.
Rebecca shared with the girls that Ariella and Bella were transferred out of AbGen and were being treated in the Neverscape; that their comatose states were necessary for their metamorphosis of their Magical Gear cells, and that Robert was staying in the Neverscape with them. Nillavan asked what was happening to Nicole if Robert was at the Palace with their grandmothers, and they learned that Nicole was in a state of depression, and that she was living with Randy’s family and Angelica’s family, alternating each week. With a tearful farewell, the two combinofts returned to the Neverscape, where a special gift awaited them in their faypartment: a pair of silver combinoft rings, presumably from Fireshy; but all signs pointed to Queen Aurora.
