Slvskorte is a Zetascapian term for the pixian fae born of a child’s first laugh (human, fae, Druid, Dryad children, mostly) with the root word meaning “giggle child”. The origin of this phenomena prior to Sir James Barrie’s “Peter and Wendy” in the Jones Sisters is unknown; deemed by the Zetalords to always be meant to stay a mystery. An infant’s first laugh crystalizes past the light spectrum that we humans cannot see, and is able to freely travel through the dimensional barriers to any of the five points: Neverscape, Zetascape, Earth, Neverland Prime, and Polaris. A slvskorte fae takes on the characteristics of their parent, even the ones that destiny’s hand has not guided them to yet.

Physiology
While 97 percent of their genes comes from their parent, the remaining 3 percent is extremely complex, being enough to not only make them into a separate entity from their giggle parent, but is what gives them their pixian powers and features, and hundreds of thousands of microcosmic traits. What they physically inherit from their parent is mostly their eyes and structural features, but these genes are positively-charged by the infant’s laugh, so the best of their features are sieved through and polarized into the most elegant of results.
Female slvskortes who are born of an infant girl’s laugh will more often than not be practically carbon copies of their giggle mothers, as is the case with Misty Jonescart (Lower Left) and Evora Heyward (Lower right) Misty shares her mother’s blonde hair, warm smile, and fae-equivelent height. Her desire to emulate her mother’s sultriness is what makes her cover her left eye (point of fact being that Bella’s left eye was destroyed in the car explosion that killed her mother). Her behavior as a mother hen figure to her couslings and younger aunts is a magnetic bond that mother and daughter share, which can never be broken.

In the case of Eve Heyward, her similarities are techinically applicable to slvsinoft mothers, as Rafe Heyward was born Rachel Heyward, a girl, and because Eve was always a girl, mentally. Immediately is where the traits of mother and child begin to collide: both Heywards were genetically meant to be the opposite gender from one another, but were born as the wrong gender. Like Rafe, Eve when she was Arturo Canvasio Heyward was miserable and suicidal; extremely dysphoric of the body and vocation he possessed as an artist. With intervention from elder cousling LaSabre Heyward, Arturo was granted a magical gender-swap prodecure, just like how the Solin-Sly Foundation would covertly fund Rachael’s transformation into Rafe, nearly decade later. In their true forms in the present day, Eve clearly models herself after her father, with her bowlcut, pale skin, razor-thin temper, and adament loyalty to friends and family. Because of all they both have been through, and because of Rafe’s fervant belief in magic, both he and Eve are the strongest pairing of slvskorte and slvsinoft, by far.
Familial structure

Even though a slvskorte is nearly as old as their giggle parent, they are still a generation apart on a family tree as their offspring. The way it works in familes that are true believers (Neverscape, Neverland, Zetascape, Remington Springs) is that until the slvisinoft is of age (13), their parents are considered the guardians of said slv; though this practice is not always utilized, except for the case of Cherry Tart Elechad-Jones and her infant mother Trinity Jones. In fae culture, the slvskorte of a child’s sibling is considered to be a cousin to the other slv(s), even though they only have a 54 percent difference in DNA. The term for first-cousin slvs is “cousling”, but there are those who feel this, too, is taboo. Also, there are those who will choose to ignore the norms and treat them as full siblings.
Even though slvskorte fae cannot reproduce sexually, they will quite often have an instrinsic desire to establish maternal or paternal bonds with adoptive offspring, as was the case with Fyrefox to Magnolia the Owl before she concieved Petalia. Because they cannot biologically reproduce, cousling romantic pairings are accepted as healthy and normal in fae societies like in the Neverscape (Morning Mist and Nillavan being a prime example). If two true believers marry, their slvs become the adoptslves (or just “slvs”) of the other, as seen in all of Team Panfan.
Hybrid species
There is no logical explanation for the existence of animalistic humanoid fae, nor is there meant to be; but there is a minority amount of slvskorn fae who are part animal and part humanoid. Kitsune Marsden, the slvskorte of Twi-Lan, is part kitten and part human; and Gingersnap Jonescart is part she-wolf and part human, the slvskorte of Leah Morgenstern (reborn as Sophie Schucart). A rather-interesting specimen of note is the oceanic hybrid fae known as Calypsana Dai Jennifer Jones, or Callie, whose classification is “chimarae”.

Callie’s head and torso are humanoid, but she possesses more oceanic traits than she does human: her right “arm” is an electric eel’s tentacle, her left “arm” is an octopus tentacle, and her lower half is mermaidian. In addition to her outward features, she can breath underwater via the gills in her tail, can make her eyelids transparent, can survive sub-arctic temperatures easily, and can communicate with and understand all underwater/sea-based creatures, even seagulls. It is not common knowledge, but Callie’s mutation is most likely to have stemmed from her direct ancestor, Queen Ravenalania Fae, the source of many of the Jones family’s hybrid fae genes; but is not the only possible one. Callie is one of the few fae who can withdraw her wings into her body so she can rip through the water faster. As such, she was able to give more of her wing tissues when Phoenixia Singleton, her blood cousin, sliced off her own wings in an attempt to save her slvsinoft from Neskomf poison.
Risks and Protections
At this point in time, there are only two known afflictions that can lead to a slvskorte’s death: Neskomf poison (which is non-belief and/or physical negative matter), or a rare phenomenon known as Detachment, where a dark energy or event separates a slvskorte from their slvsinoft at birth (or any point during the human child’s infant stage) Part of what enables a pixian fae’s life energy is the bond to their parent, even if the two never have or never will meet. While Neskomf poison can be deliberative or accidental, Detachment is unpredictable and deadly, also known as a magical suffocation. To combat these maladies, a special type of armor that is made from benign Neskomf matter is made into a rechargable gem or jewel that activates with a simple incantation: “ARMOR, FAYTERIALIZE!”, granting them the illisionary form of a spider. Even if their slvsinoft does not beleive, they can survive the poison and will be granted a state of withdrawl by Queen Aurora, placing them in the protection and adoptive bond of a fellow magical being from along the 5 points, most often souls of the departed on the Star Polaris. But what happens when an innocent fay is neskomfed to death? The fallen fae’s wings crystalize and will be found by a Neverlord’s vanguard and be kept in a safe place: the argentium vaults beneath Palace Faye-Sol. In the instance of a child who, for whatever reason, was the cause of their slv’s demise, if they are truly repentent and beleive, their belief and contrition will reactivate the spirit of that fae, resurrecting them from their state of death, now with a layer of protection against Neskomf poisoning. Fae who are reborn like this will rarely feel deep-seated anger or hatred towards their slvsinoft, but Jade Heliosa Jones, the slvskrote of Hi-Top Jones, has yet to forgive him, neither has her sister Lunaclipse (Magda’s slv).
Detachment can be brought about by any number of unknown x-factors, that is why it is feared more than Neskomf poison. Phoenixia Singleton, the slvskorte of Molly Jensen (Esther Jones’ firstborn human daughter) had long thought that she was Neskomfed by Molly, which caused her to lose her deeliebobs (antennae) and lose over 45 percent of her flight powers, making her disabled in fae culture. It was Nixie’s own hatred and grudge against her unknown parent that kept her alive: the bile that filled her magical gears reacted as a stagnant defense, allowing her to escape her death from Detachment. The only known and legal remedy is the Rites of Reattachment, when a slvsinoft and their slvskorte both transfer their own magical energies and portions of their spirit into the dying fae, making them the adoptslv of the slvinoft; which is the only reason why the Tink of Neverland Prime is still alive, because Peter and Solin took part in the rites and gave sustanance and love to the infant slv.
Link between parent and slv
What must be kept in mind is that one does not have to be of magical blood to be able to commune with the slv they gave birth to, even if it is confined to faith and imagination. Magical beings like the Trinity of Pan have a stronger bond with their slvskorn children because of their magical heritage through their grandmother Maddie, a half-fae/half-human princess of Neverland Prime. Ariella’s bond with Nillavan is the most evident because when she was only 8, she was able to envision her slvskorte and her name. Spencer Jones, Ariella’s cousin, had a more vague image of Echochime, guessing that his slvskorte had something to do with his passion of music. Even when the parent is unable to imagine or picture their giggle child, the faith they possess is a pipeline from the outside that allows their slvskorte to witness and see everything about them.
Slvskorn fae are a literal manifestation of their slvsinoft’s heart: if they are pure and kind, the fae that their laugh created will be as beautiful on the outside as that slvsinoft is on the inside, appealing to the parent in the greatest way possible. The most prominant example is of Sleetheart Schucart, the male slvskorte of Gwendy Masterson, who, when she was a child, was physically big for her age, which caused her to hate what she saw in the mirror; but Sleet was unable to see anything but the truly beautiful girl she was, no matter her size. Many slvskorte whose parents are deemed unattractive by their peers are not only fiercely protective of their slvsinoft’s loving hearts, but are unable to see any kind of flaw that other humans/beings deem. Beauty, to a fae, is only on the inside, within a person’s soul; and those who have slvsinofts who strongly believe in love and magic are truly lovely to slvskorn with kind hearts. A good example of this is Jesse Schucart, who only in the past year has met his slvskorte, Natasha. Jesse considers himself to be ordinary and average looking, and not the adonis that Ariella deserves. Natasha and Nillavan each find themselves confused at what it is he does not see in himself.
Special Talents
From their birth, slvskorn fae are ingrained with their special talent at its highest level, but the challenge is for them to find it. This is part is why Pixian fae attend Princess Maddie’s Magic school in the Neverscape; in addition to learning about the Nevertomes and other magic talismans and spells, they train to discover what their truest ability is — if they have not found it already. Nillavan would probably have had to wait for her special talent to come to light, were it not for big sister Misty welcoming her into her home. The day she moved in Nillavan noticed that Misty was upset about her favorite bracelet being broken, and almost immediately did Nillavan start calculating figures and sorting through the melting point of metals, even knowing what tools to use without ever having been formally introduced to any of these concepts. The irony of it all is that Nillavan did not realize that her level of metallurgy and mathematics was extremely rare and practically unheard of in most newborn fae.
